REVIEW
Director McTiernan sets out to save the Venezuelan rain forest, but after this mess, he'll be lucky to salvage his career. Connery, looking great in ponytail, plays an eccentric botanist who retreats into the jungle and discovers the cure for cancer. Enter Bracco, Brooklyn scientist, who's been sent to find him. There, they exchange barbs, lose the cancer cure, befriend the natives, battle greedy land developers destroying the forests and fall in love. Sad to say, even Connery's ever-commanding presence isn't enough to make this worthwhile. And Bracco is sorely miscast. Though the story has a good premise, Medicine Man is one doc whose license should be revoked. You Might Also Like
