SKINOPSISMark of the Devil follows the iconic German cult film star Udo Kier (Blade, Shadow of the Vampire, My Own Private Idaho and many more) as Count Christian von Meruh - a witch hunting apprentice to Lord Cumberland (Herbert Lom). Count Christian strongly believes in his mentor and in the ways of the church but loses faith when he catches Lord Cumberland strangle a man to death for calling him impotent. Count Christian begins to see, for himself, that the witch trials are nothing but a church scam to seduce women and rob citizens of their money, land and other personal belongings. Stick around for the violent and shocking finale.
REVIEW
During the 18th century, a corrupt, impotent witch hunter has his way with women in more grotesque ways than can be imagined. This once cause célèbre is really much ado about nothing, as it offers gross instead of scares.
