A rock found in a briefcase has mysterious powers over all who touch it, including a disabled sax player (Keitel) and an aspiring actress (Sorvino). The title refers to Lulu from Pandora's Box. A strange, even sentimental thriller from Auster, who makes his solo directing debut after writing Smoke and co-directing Blue in the Face.
