REVIEW
Years before his international success with such films as Amadeus, Cuckoo's Nest and Ragtime, Forman directed a series of quirky, funny films from his Eastern European homeland. This film depicts life in a small factory town near Prague with a curious social injustice: the women outnumber the men ten to one. A visit by a group of army reservists allows Anduka, the blonde in question, to enjoy a welcomed but bittersweet respite. (Czechoslovakian with English subtitles) Editor's Suggestions
