REVIEW
An engrossing look at a wife who spurns the comforts of bourgeois security for the pleasures of a bohemian lifestyle with a dangerously charming, drunken and chain-smoking womanizer. Depardieu is LouLou and Huppert is Nelly, the bright but bored wife of the sappy Marchant, whose demure behavior unravels in the face of the unabashed sexual excesses offered by LouLou. Riding a sexual and emotional rollercoaster, the incongruous pair slowly discover real love and affection. A rambling road movie that captures life on the edge, yet all the while, never leaving the streets of Paris. (French with English subtitles) Editor's Suggestions
