REVIEW
Spade takes his wise-ass dweeb to new lows in this unfunny piece of tedium which makes the mistake in thinking wisecracks do a comedy make. Spade plays a restaurant owner who falls for his beautiful new neighbor (Marceau). He concocts a plan to steal her dog, thus being able to spend time with her pretending to look for it. Spade spends most of the film whining and throwing out one-liners, very few of which are even worthy of a smirk. He's paired, for a short time anyway, with another overweight guy (in the absence of Chris Farley), but there are no sparks here. At least the dog's kinda cute. You Might Also Like
