REVIEW
A delightful and ingenious comedy that chronicles a disastrous three-day period on the set of an independent film production. Buscemi is perfectly cast as Nick, the high-strung director who desperately tries to tie down all the loose ends of his latest movie. His accomplices include the hilarious Mulroney as the hulking cinematographer; and Keener as the leading lady who can't remember the simplest of lines. The capper, however, is LeGros, who blows onto the set as one-time indie hack, newfound Hollywood darling, Chad Palomino -- an inspired caricature of Brad Pitt (who starred in DiCillo's first film, Johnny Suede). DiCillo's inventive script is filled with fantastical -- almost Pirendellian -- surprise twists, bristling humor and plenty of good-natured skewering of the film industry.
