REVIEW
With the question of "Who killed Laura?" (and not Palmer), Preminger sets the stage for a complex, riveting and one-of-a-kind murder mystery. Andrews plays a police detective investigating the murder of successful businesswoman Laura Hunt (the beautiful Tierney). Through a series of flashbacks, cynical columnist Waldo Lydecker (Webb) recalls Laura's life up to the murder. Featuring extraordinary photography, a haunting score, unexpected twists, remarkable performances and a scalpel-sharp wit, Laura is not to be missed. Webb gives a quintessential performance as the acerbic Lydecker ("I write with a goose quill dipped in venom"), and Tierney is simply exquisite.
