Martin wrote the screenplay for and stars in this fabulously entertaining and witty satire on life in Los Angeles' fast lane. Martin plays a wacked-out TV weatherman who loses his job, and begins affairs with two dissimilar women: Valley girl Parker (in a wonderfully comic turn) and British reporter Tennant. Martin's screenplay is full of on-target jabs, lively slapstick and metaphysical revelations (our favorite: the two very different lines at an Automatic Teller Machine). Martin's best work since Roxanne, and a pure delight.
