Knight Moves (1992)

REVIEW
This psycho-thriller is an effective, bone-chilling mystery about a serial killer who gives clues to an international chess master about where and when his next victim will die because he wants to play against the best. Lambert is very convincing as the champion and Skerritt, in a sturdy performance, is the local police chief who both suspects and helps him. The standard thriller ending doesn't detract from the film; in fact, it's very intense despite its predictability. If you can figure out who the killer is before he's revealed, you're a bit of a chess master yourself.
