REVIEW
As Al and Nikki, Day and O'Connor run neck-and-neck with Micky and Mallory as the most sympathetic sociopaths since Bonnie and Clyde. A sucker-punch opening sequence catapults us into this frenetically paced, twisted road movie. During a standard scam which results in an unexpected homicide, our antiheroes inadvertently get the goods on Zipper Doyle (Langrishe), a retired major sports figure now an institution in the community. The dead man was in the process of delivering a videocassette to Doyle at the time of his unfortunate encounter with Nikki and Al, who aren't exactly sure what to do with their newly acquired hot property. As the cats and mice hopscotch all over the vast expanses of the arid Australian wasteland, the parties involved indulge in the human predilection for base behavior and mystical confabulation. This movie is like Australian wine: You've had plenty of it before, but the peppery afterbite takes you by surprise. You Might Also Like
