SKINOPSISHow does a PG-13 movie get a 3 star skin rating from Mr. Skin? We guess that when it's biblical the asshole censors are more lenient. Plus, it was the '80s. Anyhoo, Alice Krige's Bathsheba gets bathed outside showing her bush in a distant but clear shot, and her boobs close and clear when the camera moves in. Cherie Lunghi shows her chest funghi as well in a long (time, not distance) shot. -- Rick Stanko
REVIEW
Gere plays the young David, from the famous fight with Goliath to his time as King. Beresford approaches this with a seriousness which separates it from those lavish 1950s biblical epics; though the first half, featuring Woodward as King Saul, is much more successful than the latter half.
