REVIEW
You can't judge a video by its cover or even its theatrical run, since director Levinson reedited this film for home video viewing. The result is an interesting though not very engaging comedy-drama about an actor-wannabe (Pesci) who becomes a vigilante after his girlfriend is mugged on the mean streets of Hollywood. The film tries to examine the power of celebrity criminals, as Pesci's Jimmy Hollywood is partially inspired by the media coverage of his deeds. The surprise of the film is Slater's quirky, low-key performance as Pesci's friend (and henchman) who has lost (and continues to lose) various parts of his memory. Editor's Suggestions
