Two good performers get wasted in this muddled thriller. Garcia is a burnt-out L.A. cop who takes a job in a small town only to fall onto the trail of a serial killer. Thurman is a blind schoolteacher who Garcia thinks is going to be the killer's next victim. To give away any of the leaps of logic, or amazing coincidences on which this film relies to unravel its plot, would destroy the little bits of mystery it does manage to create. Suffice to say that you would have to be a lot more than blind not to see this movie killer coming from a mile away.
