A young man in a dying factory town (Fahey) discovers that his old flame (Fonda) is now married to the scion of the Japanese entrepreneur who just bought a decaying industrial complex. The son cannot understand community opposition to turning the site into an amusement park. Coproduced by Oliver Stone, this well-acted and intelligently scripted film examines complex issues from multiple perspectives without stereotyping or condescension. Timely and pertinent, with a Rashomon-like style of exposition.
