REVIEW
Landis returns to American Werewolf in London territory with this anemic comic horror film which could be dubbed A French Vampire in Pittsburgh. Parillaud plays a bloodsucker with a social conscience: she only attacks criminals for her blood lust. But when she crosses paths with mob kingpin Loggia and undercover cop LaPaglia, things go awry. As the mobster-turned-vampire, Loggia brings such needed vitality to an otherwise weary film that for a while, it seems he may turn it around. Much of the blame goes to Michael Wolk's thin screenplay; and to the ill-pairing of leads Parillaud and LaPaglia -- Lily and Herman Munster generated more sparks. There's lots of blood and killings, though. Editor's Suggestions
