If Lucy Fell

An instantly forgettable but relatively painless "love-in-the-'90s" comedy. Parker (as a therapist -- ha!) and Schaeffer (codirector of My Life's in Turnaround) star as romantically challenged roomies who've made a pact to throw themselves off the Brooklyn Bridge within one month (Parker's character's 30th birthday) if they haven't found mate material. Wonder what'll happen, eh? Starts off dumb and pseudo hip, then becomes mildly involving in the middle third, then blows it by making the hugely predictable wrap-up really protracted. Parker is actually half-decent here, but Schaeffer lacks charisma; Stiller has some laughs as modern artist Bwick. The kind of film in which two weeks later you'll wonder out loud, "Did I see this?"
