The House of Yes

Egregiously ignored in its brief theatrical run, The House of Yes is the most wicked comedy-incest-mental illness-melodrama of its year. Fans of Spanking the Monkey shouldn't miss this sharply written tale of a dysfunctional family get-together. Martin (Hamilton) brings his new fiancée Leslie (Spelling) to his bourgeois home for Thanksgiving. There they must cope with Martin's medicated, Kennedy-obsessed twin Jackie-O (Posey). Jackie-O views Leslie's presence as a very pesky distraction to their sibling bonds of sex and assassination re-enactments, and she berates her with endless biting, offhand remarks about Leslie's poor upbringing and social standing. Posey is fabulous as always, and the rest of the ensemble is splendid. Tori doesn't even suck. Only a slightly incongruous finale mars this otherwise riotous opus to family relations.
