REVIEW
Doing her best (or is that worst?) Julia Roberts imitation, Potter joins the ranks of the seriously cute but dead-on-delivery airhead romantic leads. 'Tis a pity, for Potter demonstrates some signs of life in the film's promising beginning, playing a supposedly intelligent restorer for the Metropolitan Museum who has trouble picking the right guy. When she meets her handsome new neighbor Prinze (fast becoming the King of Bland), it's love at first sight -- that is, until she thinks he's murdered someone and sets out to solve the case. What follows is a series of unfunny, sometimes tasteless and silly predicaments. A low-rent Rear Window populated with characters who aspire for Anita Loos but settle for John Hughes, the generically titled, generically made Head over Heels would give modern romantic comedies a bad name -- if they didn't already have one.
