A Best Actor Academy Award went to Carney for his portrayal of an old man who, after eviction from his apartment building (about to be torn down around his ears), sets out on a cross-country odyssey with his cat. Touching, warm, humorous and sometimes very sad. In addition to The Late Show, perhaps the fullest use of Mr. Carney's mature talents. You Might Also Like
