Three corpses are found in Moscow's Gorky Park with their faces removed to make identification nearly impossible. But the key word here to Russian policeman Hurt is "nearly." And he sets out to solve the murders with Sherlockian reasoning. Marvin is chillingly effective as a shady American businessman. A taut and clever thriller from the pen of Martin Cruz Smith, with gritty yet stylish direction from Apted.
