REVIEW
Based on the Chicago Tribune’s comic strip of the same name, Friday Foster is a mélange of action with three tablespoons of humor. Starring the alluring Grier as the title character and Kotto as her PI friend Hawkins, this blaxploitation treasure follows photographer Foster who stumbles upon an assassination attempt of a black billionaire and helps to uncover a racist conspiracy to exterminate the country’s black leaders. Grier uses her naked flesh and steals both a hearse and a milk truck in her quest to wind up this yarn. The supporting cast -- headed by Cambridge and Rasulala -- is quite memorable. -- Jason Haiges
