REVIEW
Ryan plays an American émigré who's engaged to Canadian doctor Hutton. He flies to Paris for a business trip. Since she's afraid to fly, she stays home. Bad move. He meets a beautiful French woman and breaks the engagement. This sends her abroad. On the flight, she meets French jewel thief Kline, who uses her to help smuggle his latest booty. In an effort to keep track of her and the jewels, he pretends to help her win Hutton back. Of course, love blossoms. French Kiss is a lot more funny and endearing than the formulaic plot suggests, thanks to the frothy pace set by director Kasdan and the pleasant performances by its two stars. Ryan and Kline wrangle fresh interpretations of parts they've played before. Editor's Suggestions
