REVIEW
Pacino and Pfeiffer turn in a pair of charming performances in this pleasing romantic comedy about an ex-con (Pacino) who takes a job as a short order cook in a greasy-spoon diner and falls for the waitress (Pfeiffer). Excellent support includes Nelligan as an oversexed waitress, and Lane as Pfeiffer's gay best friend. Marshall's directing is overly sentimental and TV-ish, as with his previous outing, Pretty Woman, but Terrence McNally's adaptation of his own stage play, "Frankie and Johnny in the Claire De Lune," is strong enough to make this an enjoyable outing.
