REVIEW
A low-rent knock-off of The Defiant Ones, Fled pits a black man and a white man against each other, both of whom are escaped convicts and handcuffed together. But wait -- this isn't an old boring examination of moral conflict or a complex story of two men grappling with prejudice and inner pain. This is an action movie. Set in the high-tech '90s. Where computer software replaces human interest. Fishburne is saddled with dopey Baldwin, together fleeing police and mysterious underworld figures on their trail. They bicker, they argue, they fight, they fall down a lot -- they do everything but walk into the sunset together. For a couple of guys constantly on the move, they sure don't have a lot to do.
