SKINOPSISThey didn't fuck around in the '80s. They knew chicks would want to see this one because it tells the inspiring story of a hot welder who gets to become a famous dancer, and chicks like dancing. They made it an easier pill for all the dudes who had to go with the chicks to go to this one by having Jennifer Beals' character moonlight as a stripper. Okay, so they fucked around a little. Beals fake dancing is well documented and what kind of a stripper doesn't actually show any skin. Don't worry though; there's still nudity from her stripper friends Monique Gabrielle and Sunny Johnson who show the great tits that their mamas gave 'em up on the stripper stage. -- Rick Stanko
REVIEW
Gnash your teeth if you will, but there's no denying this film's impact on Hollywood and pop culture (not to mention the welding industry). You certainly didn't find torn sweatshirts at Bloomie's before. In spite of its stilted plot, Flashdance is a viscerally entertaining musical with imaginative dance routines and a pulsating score. C'mon now, "What a feeling..."
