Dillon is well-cast in this endearing teen comedy about a Brooklyn high school grad who takes a summer job at an exclusive Long Island club. The film abandons the usual sex-obsessed hijinks of most teen comedies, opting instead for a surprisingly sweet reminiscence of the times. An excellent supporting cast includes Elizondo as Dillon's dad, Walter as a snobbish patron, and, in a dynamic performance, Crenna as an unscrupulous car salesman whose influence on the naive Dillon proves to be an eye-opener.
