REVIEW
As pseduo-hip and annoying as the worst Tarantino rip-off, Feeling Minnesota fails as thriller, Generation X road movie, and Tarantino-wannabe. The dull plot concerns a prodigal son named Jjaks (gosh, how cool!) who returns home for his loathsome brother's wedding to a bombshell (Diaz, who's forced to marry the lout as punishment for stealing from the local baddie), only to run off with sister-in-law. A corrupt cop (played terribly by Aykroyd) and a friendly waitress (very well played by Love) also pop in and out of the film, which is basically a series of fistfights and shouting matches set to an alternative beat. With the exception of Love's waitress, all the characters are scum, and the "big twist" is as illogical and obvious as the surprise ending of a minor "Hart to Hart" episode. D'Onofrio's Method-y bully is irritating in the extreme, allowing Keanu Reeves' "subdude" performance to appear almost inspired. It's not, and neither is this tepid film. You Might Also Like
