REVIEW
First-time director Cundieff wears many hats, including writer and star, in this often hilarious, sophisticated This Is Spinal Tap-like parody about the making of a documentary of a "rags to riches" Public Enemy-like rap group called N.W.H. ("Niggaz with Hats"), whose members display an obscene fascination for "booty," guns and hats. The insipid head of the group, Ice Cold (Cundieff), and his daffy cohorts are seen in interviews and personal moments, all of them blistering funny. But the film's true genius lies in its scathing skewering of rap industry infighting, as well as the group's off-the-cuff, outlandish "PC" justifications for the sexism, misogyny, racism amd violence strewn throughout their music (as exampled in one of their songs, "Come and Pet the P.U.S.S.Y.").
