When married Kathy (Kozak) can't get her old flame (Wahl) out of her amorous fantasies, she convinces her semi-single friend Emily (McGovern) to act as her...well, as her proxy in love, thereby being able to enjoy an extramarital affair vicariously. Of course, a few problems arise, like the protests of Emily's young beau (Pitt). A tepid comedy buoyed by McGovern's quirky charms, The Favor was shelved for a few years and its ultimate theatrical release was no doubt prompted by Pitt's new matinee idol status.
