Eve of Destruction

The sexy Soutendijk is superbly preposterous as a spike-heeled, nuclear warhead-equipped humanoid in this otherwise disappointing sci-fi thriller. Eve VIII, an experimental cyborg invented by a sexually repressed doctor (also played by Soutendijk), is accidentally activated and becomes stuck in her "Battlefield mode" of programming. Our supercharged heroine is every misogynist's worst nightmare as she plows her way cross country, destroying all in her path. A stiff Hines, acting as though this were Shakespearean drama, is ridiculous as the determined cop on her bloody trail. A great idea never realized.
