REVIEW
This dark and brooding police thriller follows the story of an emotionally fragile cop who, after spending years in self-exile in Egypt, returns to a post-nuclear Europe -- a continent plunged into inexplicable darkness, constant rain, and which is crumbling into chaos and senseless crime. Hired to track down the elusive killer responsible for a series of horrifying mutilations of young girls, the detective attempts to solve the killings by using the revolutionary theory of his former mentor: re-creating the exact events leading up to each murder. The film's labyrinthine plot and bizarre imagery combine to make this a beguiling yet satisfying murder-mystery. (Filmed in English)
