A true curiosity! This slow-moving, predictable Czech film would have long been used for landfill had it not been for its scandalizing nude scenes of a pre-Hollywood Lamarr. This uncut version has Lamarr in all her natural beauty as a young woman whose marriage to a fastidious older man sours on their wedding night. She soon leaves him and finds solace in the arms of a handsome young engineer. Filmed mostly as a silent film, with only about 20 words spoken, the acting is overly expressive by today's standards.
