REVIEW
Disturbing Behavior is an underachieving thriller that is, at best, a passable adolescent tragic melodrama. A mildly dysfunctional family, recovering from the suicide of their 11-year-old son and brother, moves to the all-American town of Cradle Bay. Before you can say The Stepford Wives, our teen heroes discover a bizarre conspiracy by the adults to turn their rebellious kids into obedient, scholarly model citizens. While hardly original, the premise is at least intriguing, though more certainly could have been expected. The film looks crisp, however, and the acting is surprisingly good (except for the annoying Holmes). But last-minute studio cuts (about 25 minutes worth) may be to blame for the lack of coherence and character motivation.
