REVIEW
This blaxploitation crime thriller (released under Quentin Tarantino's Rolling Thunder distribution company) is a moderately entertaining (if overlong) entry in the '70s nostalgic sweepstakes. Rocco plays the "white cop" on a major, racially charged case -- masked men rob the wealthy (mostly African-American) crowd at a fundraiser for a Detroit politician. He's paired with a black cop (Rhodes) to help smooth things over, and the duo chase suspects, have some shootouts, and wear stylin' clothes. The mastermind is revealed in the beginning, so there's no real suspense, and the story is uneven. But there's some funky music, Rocco's solid turn, and a few decent action scenes. It can be pretty nifty.
