The Desperate Hours (1990)

REVIEW
A disappointing remake of the 1955 Humphrey Bogart thriller. Rourke stars as a psychotic who, with the help of his laywer, busts out of jail. They hide out in the house of a recently separated couple (Hopkins, Rogers). Crouse is a tough-talking FBI agent hot on Rourke's tail. Cimino fails to deliver on what could have been a taut little thriller, choosing unwisely to "open" the film up; but he does manage to keep the suspense high and deliver some jarring moments.
