Arcand's comically incisive film examines a group of male and female French Canadian academicians as they analyse the worlds of sex and human mortality. As their discussion unfolds, many in the group arrive at varying degrees of self-discovery. Arcand skillfully weaves his way through the many viewpoints and compassionately presents his characters as they turn to sexuality as a hedge against death. (French with English subtitles)
