REVIEW
Rapper-turned-actor Cube plays a native of South Africa who returns home from his adopted United States after his father dies. Now a San Francisco social worker, Cube finds the old neighborhood ain't like it used to be: instead of white pro-Apartheid thugs, he now has to face black mobsters dealing in drugs, carjackings and other illicit activities. He also discovers that his brother is indebted to a Nigerian druglord (Rhames), and tries to locate and help his sibling. Despite the potentially interesting background and political milieu, Dangerous Ground isn't much better than most direct-to-video thrillers. Roodt just can't get the mix of action and intrigue right; and the script doesn't help, either (Cube is given to heavy pontificating). This ground is not only dangerous, but shaky as well.
