Dance with Me

REVIEW
An insipid attempt at a fluffy date movie as both romance and dance film. Chayanne plays a Cuban dancer who comes to Texas to work in a dance studio owned by Kristofferson, an old flame of his mother's. Although he's hired as a handyman, our studly hero quickly displays his rug-cutting prowess and is invited to take part in a national dance contest in Vegas. While waiting for the big event, he starts a charmless relationship with sexy dancer Williams, and bonds with Kris, who can't seem to figure out Chayanne's obvious "big secret." Hokey dialogue, lame humor, stilted acting and unexciting dancing sink this snoozer quick. The big dance contest at the very end of this interminable film provides a wee bit of interest, but few will make it that far.
