SKINOPSISAn English cabinet minister (Jeremy Irons) finds himself infatuated with his son's exquisite and emotionally bruised new lover played by Juliette Binoche. Carnal tensions take their toll on his family in this arousing and savage look into the sexual psyche.
REVIEW
Damage is an arousing film, not just for the voyeuristic thrill of the much ballyhooed sex scenes between Irons and Binoche, but for the peek into the sumptuous London flats, elegant country estates and luxurious antiqued European hotels which serve as the film's backdrop. Irons plays an English cabinet minister who finds himself drawn to his son's exquisite and emotionally bruised new lover (Binoche). Richardson is Iron's restrained but ultimately tortured wife, and Graves is the betrayed son and lover. Not much in terms of plot, but high on atmosphere and tension (both carnal and familial), Damage is at times an almost savage look into the sexual psyche. (Unrated version) Editor's Suggestions
