REVIEW
A surprise and huge box-office hit, "Crocodile" Dundee is a tepid comedy about an Australian Everyman (played by Hogan, which would be like saying that Sylvester Stallone is an American Everyman) who finds adventure in the wilds of New York City. Dundee is an Aussie crocodile poacher and local legend who becomes the subject of an article written by American reporter Kozlowski. She invites him back to the States, and together they become involved in urban intrigue and romance. Admittedly, Hogan has a genial charm to him (if you can ignore his homophobia), but the film casts him in too many clichéd antics, and most of the comedy just isn’t funny.
