Clean and Sober

Keaton, in a departure from his comic portrayals, gives a first-rate performance as a drug-addicted businessman who hides out in a drug re-hab; this forces him to come to terms with his addiction. While lacking the strong narrative of The Lost Weekend or The Days of Wine and Roses, the film nevertheless is a forceful drama told in a truthful, no-holds-barred manner. Excellent support from Freeman as a dedicated counselor and Baker as a weary addict.
