REVIEW
This kaleidoscopic journey through the life of Warhol superstar Edie Sedgwick is both a searing psychodrama of burn-out syndrome and a dynamic potpourri of Sixties cultural paraphernalia. From Edie's rise to the throne of the pop underground to her tragic plummet into drug abuse and mental illness, Ciao! manages to be comical, perplexing and poignant.

Filming began in 1965, capturing the orgiastic frenzy of the Warhol Factory's heyday. Work resumed years later with a crumbling Edie living at the bottom of a swimming pool on the West Coast. Only months after the completion of filming, Edie died of a barbiturate overdose. She was 28 years old.
