The spine-tingling account of a young German girl lost in the dark abyss of drug dependency and prostitution. Based on a true story, the film has a striking authenticity acquired through the use of actual locales (Berlin's seamiest junkie havens) and a pallid complexioned cast. David Bowie provides the soundtrack music and appears briefly.
