This female Big Chill is an improvisational drama about several women who get together for a weekend retreat. Wallowing in yuppie angst, the tale seems to want to be a lesbian film but dares not. The times when lesbianism is handled, it is done quite nicely with Martha Plimpton and Ally Sheedy as a young couple and Helen Slater as a straight woman who admits to an old sapphic affair.
