REVIEW
Thanks to three appealing performances by Modine, Reiser and Quaid and an involving screenplay, Bye Bye, Love is a most pleasant surprise. Three divorced fathers meet regularly at McDonald's for the exchange of children with the ex-wives. In the course of a weekend, the story follows them as they toss one-liners, date, commiserate and fulfill their parental duties. To its credit, the film never trivializes divorce, only finding comic and sometimes touching fallout from it; though to its discredit, the wives' parts are sketchily written. Quaid is extremely funny, and his scenes with blind date Garofalo, herself hilarious, are among the film's best.
