The sexual revolution travels north in this quirky comedy directed by Quebecer Jutra. Duke Astin (Helen) and Botsford (Angel) star as two fashion designers, business partners and lovers who decide they want to have a baby. Rejected by the adoption agency and finding artificial insemination "gross," the frustrated pair decide that a stud is needed. After slapstick encounters cruising the straight discos, bars and construction sites of Vancouver, Helen and Angel choose Terry, an oafish photographer who eagerly accepts the mission. The deft handling of the relationship between the trio makes this an offbeat and touching comedy.
