REVIEW
A racially charged, occasionally irrational tale of duplicity and bigotry in small-town America. Preachy at times, it tracks Duke Johnson (Williamson), who arrives in town to attend his murdered brother's funeral and to assume ownership of his possessions. Extorted by the racist police force, Duke enlists the help of friends from Philly, Roy (played so cool by Rasulala) and his posse, and orchestrates the police's execution, but a corrupt Roy and his minions are revealed to be a major nuisance to Bucktown in their own right. Grier plays the local love interest for both Duke and Roy. One memorable line is "I ain’t no pimp. . . I'm Walt Disney, and this is Disneyland." -- Jason Haiges
