REVIEW
Donaldson's lavish and sensual production presents a decidedly different and allegedly more authentic version of the infamous nautical mutiny. Hopkins as Captain Bligh is not a tyrannical madman, but rather a puritanically moral and unflichingly formal seaman. Gibson is Fletcher Christian, former friend of the captain, who becomes a relunctant figurehead in the takeover.
