Nicholson stars as a U.S. Border Guard who gets caught up in the business of transporting illegal aliens to pay for the materialistic lifestyle his wife craves. His morals come to haunt him in the form of a young Mexican mother and her child, whom he comes to care about. An engrossing film with excellent performances.
